    The day of the evictions some thousands were there,
    To conquer those tyrants each mam did prepare,
    The officers bugle soon gave a lout trill,
    And they all made an attack upon Thomas Finn's mill.

    The banner of Freedom is waving there still,
    While guarded by Abby and brave Abbyville
    Coolfinn's lovely castle in the valley look down,
    That brightens the glories of sweet Ballygowan.

    Walsh, Finn and Kelly were evicted that day
    Likewise Pat McDonagh that lies in the clay,
    There was bold Teddy Meara who never did fail.
