A man named Thomas Tully who lives in the townland of Tomany went into the fort in Barnaboy. He brought a candle and matches with him. He went through a long passage scarcely four feet high which was roofed with flags. He travelled along about fifty yards but he had to turn back on account of foul air. He saw nothing except the walls on each side of him.
