- Weather Lore It is said that when the sky is red at sunset we can expect fine weather. When then sky is very starry we can expect frost. A rainbow in the sky when the sun is shining is the sign of broken weather.
When the stars are shooting across the sky at night rain is expected.
A circle around the moon is the sign of bad weather.
We have a well and when the water sinks in it broken weather is expected.
When the swallows fly high fine weather is expected. When the crows fly low in big numbers we can expect rain.
When the mountains look near broken weather is promised.
If Saturday is wet in broken weather we can expect broken weather for a time.
When the pigs are restless rain is expected. When a cat sits near a fire rain is expected.
When smoke goes up straight in the air from a chimney we can expect fine weather.
