   I live in the townland of Barnavilla, parish of Kilconnell. There are five families in it comprising 35 people. Ward - the most common name. The five houses are slated. There one old man over seventy years, he knows a little Irish and he can tell stories, his name is John Ward. There were about 10 more houses formerly. They are in ruins, little mounds marking the place. Many remember teh people who lived in these houses. Six persons left one house to go to America in former times. The land is good, there are no lakes. There is one river flowing through the townland, it is very good for drying the land, it carries away all the waste. There is a large expanse of bog

   I live in the townland of Doone. It got its name from a fort. There are seven families in the townland of Doone, comprising 40 people. At one time there was only one house in the townland. It was occupied by people called Ford. They herded a large tract of land, but after a time people gained over the land ant it was divided into holdings from 20 to 30 acres. All the houses are slated.
