  2. I live in the townland of Doone. It got its name from a fort. There are seven families in the townland of Doone, comprising 40 people. At one time there was only one house in the townland. It was occupied by people called Ford. They herded a large tract of land, but after a time people gained over the land ant it was divided into holdings from 20 to 30 acres. All the houses are slated.
