    The lodge road leads into Landlords farm in Mace. The Murneen road leads from Claremorris to Kiltimagh. The Carradine road leads from the Mourneen road through the village of Carradine.
    Some of the roads are not long made and more of them are built a hundred years . There are old roads in this district. They are still used . These roads are used as relief work during the Famine. The rate of pay was sixpence a day or sometimes less. There are not any paths or by-ways in the district.
    Before briges were common in this district, rivers were crossed by means of fords at shallow places. When a person would die the coffin would be
