    Local Fairs.
    27th May, 1938

    The local fairs of Granard, Co. Longford are at present held on the streets. In olden times the buyers went to the houses of the farmers to purchase their animals.
    The fairs are held at present on every second Tuesday and Wednesday of the month. Buyers come from far and near as the cattle reared on the land about here are considered to be of good quality.
