    Basket Making
    13th Jan; 1938
    My Grandmother, Brigid Carr, who is now 72 years of age, and living in Granard, Do. Longford told me that she used to earn her living by making and selling at home, and in the nearest towns in this county creels, potato baskets and fancy coloured shopping baskets.
    This is how she made them - She gathered sallow rods, and cleaned them with a "brake", which was made from two pieces of iron welded together.
