    A Local Poet

    The local poet that I know of in my district of Abbeylara, Co. Longford is Mr Wiliam Sheridan who is about 40 years of age, and lives in the townland of Aughnagarron, in the parish of Abbeylara, Co. Longford.
    He wrote a number of songs, and two of them are:-
    "An Exiles Lament," and "The Cloughernal Sports." Here are a few lines of "An Exiles Lament"
