    My daddy told that there was a very heavy fall of snow in the year 1933 in the month of February, which lasted for three weeks around this district of Granard, Co. Longford.
    The people living in the country were unable to go to the towns for food, and they had to make the most of what they were able to procure from small out of the way shops, and it was with great difficulty that they reached them either.
