    In olden times the people took three meals a day - breakfast, dinner and supper. For their breakfast they took oaten porridge and buttermilk, they took potatoes, salt and buttermilk at their dinner, and for their evening meal or supper they ate oaten bread and had new or fresh milk or buttermilk.
