    Weather Lore
    1st Dec; 1937
When the cat scrapes the chairs, and the dog snores it is a sign of rain.
At the approach of rain the far off hills look near at hand.
When the sun is pale, and the sky red in the morning, it is a sign of a wet evening.
When the hens pick their feathers rain will come.
When a shower of rain comes if the hens remain out in it the rain will not continue, but if the go off for shelter the rain will continue.
