    My uncle told me that there is a large rock in Mr Thomas Kelly's field, in the townland of Cloughernal, in the parish of Abbeylara, Co. Longford. It is called "Kelly's Mass Rock" because Mass had often been said behind it during the Penal Days.
    The following story is often told, "One day a woman was passing by this way, and she met six English soldiers. They put her down on her knees, pointed their guns
