    Long ago people used to make potato bread out of potatoes and flour and they put salt in it but no soda in it It is known in our district as "slim bread. There is still oaten meal bread made in our district They put it on the griddle until it stiffens and then they stand it against a grid-iron to harden.
    They used to make boxty bread out of raw potatoes. There are not many people make it now for there is nobody knows how to make it but the very old people. There are some people who remember grind stones being used in our district. They consisted of two stones one on top of the other. There is a hole down through the top one and a hollow in the low stone so that the bottom of the top stone will sit down into it. The one stone ran round and the other stands still and the corn was ground between them.
