- Famine Times There was a man named Ned Connor lived in the townland of Rathcarbrey near the town of Keady. He made his living by selling oat meal to the people in olden times and by charging very dear for it. So he saved a lot of money, which he then lent out at very high interest. In some cases he charged fifty per-cent of interest. When he died, he was buried in Oram burying ground. There wasa slab of stone put at the head of his grave and some person wrote on the stone 'Here lies the remains of fifty per-cent,
