- Treasure from 1918
Some years ago, while Tommy Marshall [of Ring, Carne, Broadway, Co Wexford] was knocking down an old dwelling place in Kilmore, he found a tea-drawer of gold coins. It had been put there by Tommy Marshall[s] great great-grandfather. The reason the gold was put there was because there were no banks and also he was afraid it would be stolen or robbed.
The gold had been hidden there in the time of the war in 1918.
