   A rainbow in the morning.
   A ring around the moon.
   The moon sitting on its back.
   The swallows flying low.
   When soot falls from the chimney into the fire.
   The curlews call.
   When the hill looks dark.
   When a blue flame rises from the fire.
   When birds are seen picking their feathers.
   When the hearthstone is damp.
   When the wind blows in the door facing south.
   When the salt gets damp.
   When a dog is seen eating grass.

   Signs of Storm

   When the sheep gather together on the mountain.
   When the cows face south while chewing the cud.
   When the sea-gulls fly over the land.
   When the birds tumble in the air.
   When the wind whistles through the key-hole.
