  1. On Begley's land in Cratloe there is a very ancient castle and it is built on a rock and is covered with variegated ivy. It is close to the public road and is of enormous height.
    Bunratty castle is another fine structure built on the same lines as Cratloe castle. Both of these castles are going to ruin. There is also another castle on the road to Quin portion of which has fallen and which looks very dangerous from the public road.
    Loughvara castle is built on the side of a mountain. This castle can be seen from a long distance. It is situated middle way between Kilkishen and Limerick. It is a round building about fifty feet high. It commands a splendid view of the surrounding lands which is inhabited by game such as hares. Sportsmen who visit this district much admire the castle. When a person reaches the top he gets a splendid view of the
