    Holy Wells
There is a holy well in Ballycannon
    called Saint Sennan's well. Rounds
used to be done there long ago, and
    scapulars, medals and pictures were
left there by those doing the
rounds. Rounds are not done there
now. It is said that the well
moved from one side of the road
to the other because the man on
whose land it was cut down a
tree that grew beside the well.
    Saint John the Baptist's well
is on the border of the parish, and
rounds are still done there on
Saint John's Eve. Sore eyes are
    often cured there.
