- In the old times a Bishop and a priest lived in Rathrobin near Mount Bolus. They built a cave near the bog of Clonshanna and they used to say mass in the cave every day. The people round about the place used to go to the mass.

- When the priests were saying mass long ago in Ireland. They were persecuted very much. They used to say mass in the shelter of a big rock. When the priests were caught saying mass in any of these places they were killed.
