    Buying and Selling
    10th June, 1938.
    Shops were very common long ago in this district of Granard, Co. Longford. There were at least two shops in every townland, and some people living far away had to come long distances to purchase their goods. They bought a week's supply at a time.
    People always made it a rule to buy goods on their way to and from Mass.
