    one hundred and fifty years since the Cavan Road was made. The "Old Road" which leads to Granard was made about four hundred years ago, and the old people say that those who worked at it were paid at the small rate of 2d per day. A path leading to the old Church and graveyard, (and still the burial ground of the people of this parish of Granard) was re-constructed about one hundred years ago.Those who worked on it then got 6d per day.
