    weaving, dyeing, whip - making, pottery work, and rope - making are not now done in Kanturk, Barony of Duhallow, County of Cork.
    Candle - making, soap - making, forge - work thatching, coopering, wheel - making nail - making, and burning of lime in lime kilns were done in this district in former times.
    Candle - making and soap manufacture were formerly done by Mr. Hugh Kelleher, Strand Street, Kanturk.
    The manufacture of spades, gates, ploughs, fire - cranes, horse - hoes, harrows, and fire irons is presently carried on by Mr. Pierce O' Connor, Water Gate Street, Kanturk.
    Thatching is still done locally by Mr. Tim Donoghue, Curragh Cottages, Kanturk.
    Coopering is still done locally by Mr. Daniel Cashin, Water Gate Street, Kanturk.
