    The names of the fields on my father's land are...

    The names of the fields on my father's land are Maide Bán, Cúlán Cam agus Béatáill.
    The latter is so called because the surface was burnt to prepare it for tillage.
    Srath Tobair is wet land round the well

    Dubh Dhoire is a strip of land which stretches from the road leading to Castlerea to Bookla and over to farm. On the ordnance survey map it is spelled "The Wirra". The stumps of black oak are still to be seen along this stretch of ground so it is likely that a forest of black oak grew there long ago.

    The Master's Garden is so called because a teacher lived there.
