- In the townland of Killafuddy in the land of Thomas Mc Conkey it is said that there is a field in which silver is to be found. About two years ago a number of men got spades to dig in the field where they thought the treasure was.
Coming near the field they saw a red light. They came closer and they saw a red light and something else but could not recognise what it was. They got afraid and went back. No one ever tried to dig in the field. The field is always kept in grazing. One time a man ploughed it and sowed corn but it never grew. There are two cottages now built in that field. - It is said that a ghost has been seen at Rooskey. It was seen by Patrick Mc Gough. One night as he was coming from his ceilidhe he was going past Hamels Mill he heard someone shouting in a field near by.
He was frightened but walked on. But after a while he saw something white on the side of the road. When he came near it he saw(continues on next page)- Collector
