Sometimes an old shoe is nailed on the stable door for good luck.
- The churns they used in olden times were of oak, and the hoops were made of ash, the man who made these churns was called a cooper, these churns were about two feet wide at the head and bottom, there was also a lid used with a hole for the dash to go up and down.
