  1. about thirty years ago bricks were made in Longford. There was machinery for this purpose. Three men kept filling big tanks with (blue clay) and one man shaped out the brick. At another end it was then taken out in to the field on hunting barrows, barrows with no sides on them. Two men with hand grapes as they could not touch them with their hands. They left them there in the sun to dry.
    Then they were brought into kilns to be burned. After a certain time they were ready to be used.
