- Once upon a time there lived a man named Pat Quinn in Esker.
One hot sumer's day as he was coming home from his work he spied a leipreachán under a big tree sunning his money.
So he ran over to the leipreachán and took out a button out of his pocket and threw it on the money. Then he told the leipreachan that the money was his.
The leipreachan told him that the best thing he could do with it was to buy land and so he did and from that out he had a big farm of land and a good deal of money.

- Many stories are told by the old people about fairies that were out long ago. Among those fairies were little men known as leipreachans.
They were supposed to have pots of gold hid in the earth. There was a man one time and he caught a leipreachán. He thought he would be very rich and he kept a tight hold of him, and asked him where the gold was.
But the leipreachan was very clever and wanted to get away so he said to the man "look(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
