It was only rich people that could afford to buy tea. But one day a family in the district thought they would cut a great shine by giving tea to a priest that was saying Mass in their house. They boiled it well in water and when it was well boiled they served up the tea leaves to the priest and threw out the tea.
Before cups came into use there were little wooden vessels called noggins.
