- Less than century ago and till recently the tinkers used to assemble annually in Loyd. On the road to Kieran, one corner is known as "Tinker's Corner."
A Tinker's child died whilst they were staying in Loyd and to the "wake" were summoned tinkers form far and near.
They came in hundreds.
A plot of land was allotted to them for a grave and this piece railed round can never be encroached on. The little iron cross marking the grave is still to be seen. - A priest, riding on horseback had his Missal and beads in his hand. He was riding up Gingle's hill, on the Cookstown Rd.
The priest was flung from his horse at the cement stone, and still to be seen on that hard cement stone are the impressions of Missal and beads.
Where the mark of the Missal is, water is always to be found, even on the most(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
