As Cromwell's soldiers were going from trim to Kildalkey going from along Moattown road there was one of the soldiers on top of a high hill in the locality of Publicstown and he was blowing a horn at the other soldiers to bring them over to burn a house in that district but the soldiers did not hear the horn and house was saved. The people of this house saved all their belongings by burying them in boxes in the ground. When the soldiers were on this route they went into Lord Barnwell's and they asked "who owns this castle" and the Lord said "I owned it yesterday and I suppose you own it to-day" then
