- Hallow E'en occurs on the last day of October every year. Great is the joy in every home on that night. There are a lot of customs connected with Hallow E'en and hear and some of them. Some of the old people leave food on the table and light a good fire before going to bed. For they say that spirits are going about. They put three saucers on the table. Fill one with water, one with clay and put a ring on the other. Blindfold one of your chums and put him a distance away from the table, make him walk to it and touch one of the saucers if he touches the one with the water in it, he will cross the sea.
