Ballyvistea; T Batters; Known as "the Caher". Ballyvistea contains three other smaller forts. Bartoose; P Clancy; Very high and said to contain a cave. Chancellorsland; P Ryan; Flat and with a dyke round. Duncummin contains three forts. Monmore; T Burke; Very high and bushes on it. Monmore; H.M. Ryan; Must be on bed of former lake. It is worthy of note that Ballyvistea and Duncummin adjoining townslands contain seven forts between them. These forts are called moats, raths, or lises. Moats is the most used name.
