- Leprechauns and Fairies
Long ago the fairies lived in forts and liosses and have gold hidden in the mountains and caves. It is said that in Reuon, Co Tipperary there is a crock of gold hidden there in the boundary fence between Michael Hally's land and Edmond Lonergan's land and it is a double ditch.
The children of Reuon were playing in the field one day and one little boy saw a beautiful stick in a hole in the ditch with half of it thrust in between two stones. He took it out of the ditch and turned to go home with it, when a little man dressed in green cap and red jacket and a little silver shoe in one hand and he shouted after the little boy, "My stick, Give me my stick quickly". The boy threw back the stick and the fairy then dissappeared.- Informant
