  1. Malady/Remedy
    Backache. Flannel. There is some certain cure in red flannel.
    Sudden Sickness. If you got sick suddenly outside, drink some of the water that is inside and if you got sick suddenly inside to drink some of the water that is outside.
    Headache. The "Brat Brigde" would cure a pain in your head.
    Measles. A hard boiled egg or porter is supposed to cure measles.
    Whooping Cough. It is said that if you went over and under an ass three times it would cure the whooping cough.
    Earache. Old people say that a drop of whiskey in wadding would cure a pain in the ear. The heart of an onion put in wadding will also cure a pain in the ear.
    Cold. Onions eaten raw are good for a cold.
    Warts. Water that you would get in a stone when you are not looking for it. Or to rub a snail that would be got on a furze but to bury it then.
