  1. In or about the year 1837 at Brittas, Pallsgreen where up to the present day stands and ancient Castle, a Crock of Gold was supposed to have been hidden by a man named Sir John Bourke who afterwards was hanged at Limerick.
    Some years afterwards, a local man named Ryan saw in a dream one night, the place in which the treasure was hidden. He went to unearth it but when he was raising a large stone he was approached by a bull and this put a stop to his search
