    About forty years ago a man living in Loughgur named Owen Brosnane composed two songs. The names of them are Teampal Noe and Loughgur Side. The first song is relating to a Church situated on the bank of Loughgur lake about a quarter of a mile from Holy Cross. It is relating to the tall beech trees overshading the grave of a Bard whose [?] and he is buried in the Church. The second song is relating to the beauty of Loughguir. Here are the verses of the first song.

    Where the shamrocks and the ivy ever grow
    Where the wild dove and the raven Lile protecting spirits soar
    Oer the gren graves of silent Teampal Noe
