- Mount Henry House.A gentleman whose name was Major Hare lived in Mount Henry. He was a big land owner, but owing to bad times he could not pay his rent and rates. He let most of his land to a man named Mangan. They had a lot of cattle in it, and were afraid they would be taken by the sherrif.They came one night to take them away. Major Hare heard them, and came out and threatened to shoot them if they did not go away. The Mangans said they would take his guns off him, but they had to go without their cattle. They came again a few nights later and went up to Major Hare's bedroom. The minuted he opened the door the major fired and shot him the the leg(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
