    In this district of Rathkeale Monday, Wednesday and Friday were supposed to be unlucky days of each week. People do not begin work such as ploughing or house-building on Saturday as it is said it will never be finished.
    Monday is said to be an unlucky day to move from one house to another and no one does it.
    People do not like to go on a long journey on Friday especially if it falls on the thirteenth of the month. The third and the thirteenth day of each month are supposed to be unlucky also. The third of November and the month of May are thought to be unlucky for marriage.
