- There are a great deal of Forts in the townland of Kilmacanerla. Some of them are very near each other, they are in a circle about half a mile apart. There is a fort near our house and the owners of it went cutting it one morning. They came and one of the bullocks was dead in the middle of the fort. It is round in shape, and there is a dyke around it and a bank, and there is a double row of trees around it. There are two forts close together in Castletown and there was a little girl living near them with her mother in a cottage. One day the little girl was lying in the ditch of the Fort and she fell asleep, she did not wake up for a very long time. When her mother found her there was a little man along side her with a stocking and he knitting with a pair of knitting kneedles. She carried her in and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
