- Long ago there lived a young man and his wife. This man had to pass a fort every night coming from work. One night was dusky and a big cat followed him from the fort. About a month after he was passing this fort he heard a lot of men talking and he listened and this is what he heard, "Man O - "Man - O -when you go home to night tell Bill the rover, that Pol Rover is dead. The man ran home and was afraid. When he went home and told his wife that he heard the queerest thing he ever heard. He told her his story and the cat was listening to him. When his story was finished the cat made for the door saying "míaow", "míaow" the mother of all my children and was never seen again.
