  1. Once upon a time there lived two brothers who were farmers. They owned the same farm. The youngest one used work on this farm. "This day" he was working near a fort in a rushy field and he found three babies in the rushes. He asked them "what they were doing there?" They said they were cutting rushes to make a bed for their father in heaven. This boy was thinking of this for a long time after, and he said one day to his brother that he was going to get married. He went away and got married, and after three years a baby was born. He was very lonely when this occurred, and the second baby that was born died. He was delighted with this and one day his wife said to him. Why was he so lonely when the first one lived? and so delighted when the second one died. He said to her one child who dies is worth all children that ever lived on earth, he told her his story about the babes in the rushes.
