  1. Piseóga seem to be the remnants of Pagan Superstitions - form of spells - handed down and practised in certain families. Most piseoga were connected with the pagan festivals of "May-day" and "Novermber night", and were intended to carry away the neighbour's butter or milk, to cast disease on his cattle, or to take away his crops.
    Of late years, some of these piseóga have been revived, and many people complain of finding eggs in their potatoes, hay, oats &c with consequent loss
