  1. The "Spadóg" was another form of light which the old people had. There was no mould for these and they were made of Bees' wax.
    The Thread was dipped several times in the bees wax, until something like a taper was formed.
    They were not used much because they were only like a spark. But they were used as Blessed Candles and were always taken to be Blessed on Candlemas Day.
    It was an ould custom to light one of those "Sradóg" under a cow after calving.
