    Twas in the twenty ninth day of last June.
    When I thought of my lovely companion
    How great were my sorrows at noon
    I ranged over hills over valleys
    and rocks that were lofty and high
    To let length in a grove near the damsel
    That I did gloriously lie.

    Next morning I rose from my slumber
    Curiosity did me invite.
    I rambled through Carrig next morning
    To gaze on my own hearts delight.
    Her beauty it was so enticing
    Her glances they quite wounded me
    In the country I'll range it all over
    To find out me own Grad mo Croíde
    III
    And If I can find out my stoirín
    To her I must constend will prove
    From her caresses I go no more roving
    But goin in sweet union and love
    Twas in Carrig I first saw my
