- (continued from previous page)haysheds at Lisheenbawn [?] near Castleisland a motor was turning the corner when it was turned over and the people in it were injured. Then another motor came along and not seeing it round the turn but against it. In 1984 a great thunder storm of lightning came killing numbers of cattle and horses. A rainstorm followed they almost saved by the farmers was swept away from those residing beside rivers, as these overflowed their banks. It caused damage to crops too and went into houses, drowning fowl etc.We had the last snow storm in February '33 when the snow was about 3feet high much more deep in Glens and sheltered places. It did no damage tho - in this district.
