  1. Long ago people wore no shoes or boots till they were about sixteen or seventeen years of age. The shoes were called brógs, clogs and leopins (lopeens). Clogs has leather uppers and timber soles, brógs were made of strong leather, and leopins were worn by women and made by themselves. They were made of knitted cloth, and worn in, and around the house.
