- In olden times the Irish people had a name on every field in there land. Those names come from people who lived there or from anything interesting that happened on the land. In some land there are rocks and there are different names on these rocks. There re some rocks called "Mass Rocks". In the penal times the priest used to say mas on those rocks. There are no rocks on our land but there is a well on it. It is called the "Sha" well. Long ago the old people used to come on a certain day to that well and perform stations. There is land adjoining us and there are a lot of rocks on it. There are ruins of an old castle on it. It was a man named Irwin who owned the castle. He owned a lot of land also. He lived in the townland of Harristown. There is a big rock on that land and the old people say that there is a pot of gold under that rock. There is a big brae near our land. It is called Morgan's Brae. There was a man named Morgan living there. He lived in the townland of Harristown.
