  1. The name of my district is Gortnalibret. Some say it means the hungry lip. The parish is bloon blare which means blares meadow and the barony is Liosclogher which means the stoney fort.
    This townland is fairly thickly populated. There are about twenty four houses in it twenty one of which are inhabited and three waste. There are about eighty people living in it and there are a good number of people over seventy. They are John Loughlin, John MacHugh, Mrs Mac Dermott and I often go to visit them in my spare time to hear them telling stories.
