    If stars fall on a frost night. When there are a lot of stars it betokens frost. When there is a mist in the valley in the morning. If a mist goes out the mountain in the morning. If the river makes little noise. If the weather takes up with thunder. If St. Swithins(?) day is good it shall not rain for forty days. If the sun sets a deep red colour. If far off hills look clear. A red sky at night is the sailors delight.
