  1. The best mower in the townland of Gortnalibret is a man named John McHugh. He was able to mow eight ricks of hay in a day and each rick weighing a half ton. His day's work is ten hours.
    He was only a small man yet he was able to beat a strong man mowing. Often they went into a field to mow and in the evening John McHough would have the other man beaten by two ricks. He was supposed to be the best mower in the townland of Gortnalibret.
